This recipe makes 2 loaves of bread.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups warm water (bath temperature)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Stir with a whisk.
  2. Add water and stir. The mixture will be VERY sticky.
  3. Transfer to a buttered bowl and top with a lid, foil or thick kitchen towel.
  4. Place in a warm space to let your dough rise until doubled, 1-2 hours.
  5. Transfer dough to 2 buttered pans (round cake pans work nicely).
  6. Bake at 450 degrees F for 35 minutes.
