Simple Strawberry Chia Seed Hand Pies…for Breakfast!

Ingredients

  • Pie crust (1 crust makes 4 hand pies)
  • Strawberry fruit spread
  • Chia seeds
  • Small heart shaped cookie cutter

Instructions

  1. Combine 3 tablespoons of strawberry fruit spread with 1 tablespoon of chia seeds and set aside.
  2. Slice a pie crust into four pieces.
  3. Use your heart-shaped cutter on one side of each piece.
  4. Put a tablespoon of strawberry-chia seed mixture on the opposite side of each piece.
  5. Fold the heart-shaped side over the top of the strawberry mixture.
  6. Slightly moisten the loose heart with a little water and attach to the top of the folded pie crusts.
  7. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
  8. Bake on a parchment or silicone-lined baking sheet at 425 degrees F for 15 minutes.
