Jack-O-Lantern Apricot Hand Pies for Halloween

Use one pie crust to make 4-6 hand pies.

  • 1 pie crust
  • 1/2 cup apricot jam
  • 1/4 cup cream

Instructions

  1. Roll out pie dough, using your favorite homemade recipe or a sheet from the store. One large pie crust makes 5-6 hand pies.
  2. Use a glass to cut 8-12 circles (depending on how many pies you’re making).
  3. Place circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
  4. Add a dollop of apricot jam, spreading almost to the edges.
  5. For the remaining circles, use a paring knife to quickly cut 3 triangles and 1 smile.
  6. Place the jack-o-lantern circles on top of the jam circles. Fashion a little stem out of a little rolled dough; squish it to the top.
  7. Crimp the edges of the jack-o-lantern hand pies with a fork.
  8. Brush with fresh cream.
  9. Bake at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes.
