PROPAGANDA? LOVE IT. At least where the kids’ health is concerned. That’s why I’m such a fan of books with a smart food theme. I wrote about 5 of our favorites a while ago, but there’s another one on the bookshelf these days. Dinner With Olivia is surprisingly helpful because it’s not really about nutrition–it’s about manners.
Complete with an embarrassing little brother who slurps his spaghetti to a full blown fantasy about a posh dining scene straight out of Downtown Abbey, Olivia’s on a quest to behave brilliantly when her friend (Francine, ‘course) invites her for dinner. Our favorite line is this: “At a fancy dinner party, everything has to be perfect.” You have no idea how powerful that idea is to a 3-year-old who is about to slink down out of her chair in the middle of dinner. Or maybe you do.

I love How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food! I actually love all of those books… they are wonderfully preachy! 🙂
