And nothing is more satisfying than this goat cheese dip that even kids love.

Why kids like this goat cheese dip

I wanted our kids to try goat cheese and they didn’t love it plain. So when I found an idea similar to this dip, I started making changes until it was perfect for us. 

• It’s a milder flavor than straight goat cheese because you combine it with and cream cheese.
• Warmed in the oven, with a drizzle of olive oil on top, the presentation feels like a decadent treat.

Special tools needed to make goat cheese dip

It’s a simple recipe but there are a couple of important tools to make this dip work. These are my favorites plus those with the highest ratings and reviews:

• Something to blend the cheeses together, such as:
  • Blender
  • Food processor
• A low, small dish that can go in the oven, like one of these:
  • Small casserole dish
  • Large ramekin
  • Au gratin pan

That’s it. This is a simple recipe that can be modified in tons of ways.

Ingredients

Scale 1x2x3x

• 8 ounces goat cheese (a bar or crumbled)
• 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened cut into about 6 pieces
• 2 tablespoons milk
• zest of 1 lemon
• 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)
• 1/4 teaspoon salt plus a few cracks of fresh pepper
• 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan
• Olive oil to drizzle on top

Instructions

1. Prep. Preheat oven to 425°F. Set out a small baking dish (I use a large ramekin).
2. Blend. In a medium bowl with electric beaters or standing mixer, combine goat cheese, cream cheese, milk, zest, lemon thyme, salt and pepper. Beat on medium until smooth.
3. Bake. Spread cheese mixture in small casserole dish. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Bake 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool slightly. Drizzle olive oil over the top. 
4. Serve. Our family loves this on a board with a sliced baguette plus other little snacks like veggies and olives.
