IT’S 90 DEGREES IN NORTH CAROLINA TODAY–that’s 99 degrees in pregnant lady temperatures. With my due date for baby #4 officially a day behind me and my stomach WAY out in front of me, I can think of no better reason to share a few of my favorite popsicle recipes for kids. Each is low in sugar, high in fruit and made to enjoy. Look for many more of these in the weeks to come but here’s a good start:
1. Strawberry Lemonade Popsicles. Chunks of fresh strawberries nestled in real lemonade… It doesn’t get much simpler or tastier for summer. Bonus, kids can easily help whip up this recipe we recently developed for eHow.
2. Frozen Fudge Pops. Avocado? Yes. Banana? Yes. Chocolate? Yes. Sugar? Nope! Take a peek and see if your kids don’t enjoy this healthier version of the Fudgesicles we all grew up on.
3. Strawberry Banana Frozen Yogurt Pops. Fresh bananas and strawberries mixed with organic yogurt and a splash of juice? Just the sweetest taste of summer on a stick.

These are just what the doctor ordered! It’s hot and muggy here in Austin. I’m looking forward to making the Strawberry Banana Frozen Yogurt Pops for Joaquin. I hope you don’t have too much longer to go. Sending good thoughts your way for baby #4’s arrival!
